FutureBridge Academy is independently owned and operated by Rajiv Thapa as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom.
I started FutureBridge Academy for a simple reason. After many years of working one-to-one with young learners — quietly, patiently, subject by subject — I realised that the most valuable thing I offered wasn't a set of answers. It was a way of thinking about learning that stayed with students long after any single exam had finished.
My name is Rajiv Thapa, and I run this academy on my own. I do not employ a team, franchise the name, or hand students off to associates. When you book a session, you are working directly with me. That personal accountability is not an operational detail — it is the entire point of what I do.
My teaching philosophy is built around three ideas: clarity, calm, and long-term confidence. I want a student who works with me to leave every session more confident than they arrived, and to look back a year later and see genuine growth — not just a slightly better grade, but a better relationship with their own mind.
Clarity comes first because most academic struggles are not about intelligence. They are about hidden confusion — a topic missed years ago, a technique never quite understood, a way of reading a question that was never made explicit. My job is to find those quiet gaps and close them without shame or drama.
Calm matters just as much. Panic is the great enemy of learning. When a student feels rushed, judged, or overwhelmed, their thinking narrows and their progress stalls. I run my sessions at a pace that is thoughtful rather than frantic, and I hold high expectations without ever raising my voice.
Confidence is the long game. I care much less about a single grade than I do about whether a student, five years from now, believes they can face a difficult subject and work through it. Grades matter — I take them seriously — but they are a symptom of a healthy learning relationship, not the goal in themselves.
My academy is deliberately small and deliberately focused. I work with students from Key Stage 2 through A-Level, with a particular concentration on KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I support core academic subjects and, just as importantly, the study skills that hold everything else together: planning, revision technique, essay structure, exam mindset, and healthy work habits.
All my sessions are delivered online, one-to-one, through a secure video platform. Online learning is often written off as second-best, but I have found the opposite to be true when it is done properly. Students learn from a familiar environment, families avoid unnecessary travel, and I can share worksheets, notes and past papers instantly on screen. What matters is not the medium — it is the quality of the attention.
The way I structure my programmes reflects how real academic development actually works. A one-off session can be useful, but genuine progress almost always comes from rhythm. That is why my most popular programme — the Weekly Success Plan — is built around a consistent weekly session, a clear plan for the coming week, and a short review of what came before. Nothing dramatic. Just steady, honest work.
For students preparing for major exams, my Exam Preparation Programme moves at a different pace. Six focused sessions built around past papers, revision technique and exam-day mindset. I do not believe in scaring students into performance. I believe in giving them a repeatable method they can trust when they walk into the exam hall.
For families who want a deeper commitment, the Academic Growth Plan and the Excellence Mentoring Programme extend the same care over longer periods and across multiple subjects. They are designed for students who want to build real, sustained momentum — not to plug a short-term gap.
I care deeply about parents being genuine partners in the process. Parents receive short, honest written summaries after sessions, and structured progress reviews at agreed intervals. I do not send inflated updates to justify fees. If something is going well, I will say so. If a student is struggling, I will say that too — kindly, but clearly.
Safeguarding is central to how I work with young learners. Every session is delivered online, in an appropriate environment, with parents welcome to join or observe as they wish. I follow a written Safeguarding Policy and take the trust that comes with working with children and young people very seriously.
I take confidentiality and data protection just as seriously. Personal information is handled in line with UK GDPR and my published Privacy Policy. I use only trusted platforms for scheduling, video calls and payments, and I never share student information beyond what is needed to deliver a session or fulfil legal obligations.
One question I am often asked is why I chose to build this as an independent sole trader rather than a large business. The honest answer is that scale would compromise the very thing that makes this work. The moment I stop being personally responsible for every session, the promise of the academy changes. I would rather keep the practice small and genuinely good than expand it and quietly lose what matters.
That said, I take the professional side of the business seriously. Sessions are booked and paid for through secure systems. Receipts are issued for every payment. My terms, refund policy and other legal information are all published clearly on this website. Families should never have to wonder how something works.
If I had to describe the kind of student who tends to thrive with me, it is not the top of the class or the bottom of the class. It is the student who wants to take their learning seriously but has not yet found a way of doing so that feels sustainable. I am not a miracle worker. I am a patient, structured teacher who takes long-term learning seriously — and that combination, over months rather than weeks, tends to change how a young person sees themselves as a learner.
Parents often tell me that the most surprising outcome of working with me is not the grade improvement — though that generally comes too — but the change in atmosphere at home. Sunday evenings become less tense. Homework becomes less of a battleground. The student starts to own their own study. That, more than anything, is what I am proud of.
Beyond the academic side, I have a genuine interest in how young people find their footing in a fast-moving world. I care about their attention, their sleep, their confidence, their ability to sit with something difficult without immediately reaching for a phone. These are not academic issues, exactly — but they shape academic performance more than most syllabuses admit.
Looking ahead, my ambition for FutureBridge Academy is not to grow bigger. It is to keep going deeper. To keep refining how I teach, how I plan, how I write my session notes, how I run my reviews. To keep learning from every student who trusts me with their time. And to remain, above all, a place where a young person can arrive uncertain and leave a little more sure of themselves — session by session, week by week, year by year.
If any of that resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. The Contact page has everything you need to reach me directly. Whether you are ready to book a first session, or simply have a question you would like an honest answer to, I read every message myself and reply within one business day.
Every session, every note, every review — from me directly.
